Why James Hardie Siding Is The G.O.A.T. Fiber Cement Siding In Colorado Springs
We Looked At All The Other Brands And Hardie
Comes In First Place…Every. Single. Time.
Each year, homeowners across our Colorado Springs service area consider which fiber cement siding to go with. It can be a tough choice! Fiber cement is a great material, but many brands offer nearly infinite coloring and style options.
- James Hardie
- Allura
- Nichiha
- GAF
- Woodtone
- And more…
And they all make their products just a little bit differently…
So…which is best?
Who’s the greatest?
Undeniably, it’s James Hardie.
Here’s a couple of homes with James Hardie siding systems for a visual. Clean. Symmetrical. Strong. Vibrant. And what’s nice is that Hardie offers an ULTRA-wide range of colors.
When you consider their Dream Collection, you’ve got nearly 700 “ColorPlus” finishes to choose from.
In our area, the most common colors people opt for are:
- Arctic White
- Cobblestone
- Monterey Taupe
- Pearl Gray
- Light Mist
- Gray Slate
From our perspective, the reason Hardie is the G.O.A.T. is about more than styling. The other reasons why we choose this material come down to two key factors.
Hardie Offers A Better Warranty
James Hardie systems come with a host of warranties (including our workmanship warranty). They cover the fiber cement material along with trim, soffit, and backer board, the finish, and labor if repairs are needed, as well as paint. Their 30-year warranty is non-prorated and transferable.
Nichiha also offers a 30-year warranty, but Hardie’s company resources and network are hard to beat. They care for contractors like us who install their systems and the families nationwide who have their products on their homes.
GAF offers a 25-year limited warranty against defects on its “WeatherSide” fiber cement. However, while it’s primarily a roofing company, Hardie leads the fiber cement siding industry.
There’s a big difference. We keep an eye on this kind of thing because we stand by our rock-solid promises.
The Cost-To-Value Ratio
Some fiber cement products are more expensive than James Hardie, and others are far cheaper. We consider them top-tier, but they provide very high levels of value in terms of durability and performance (longevity).
Hardie fiber cement has proven itself in the Colorado Front Range over the generations. Their systems have withstood extreme windstorms, hailstorms, and even forest fires in our area.
And we’re not only the company locals call for siding installations, but repairs as well.
We’ve seen firsthand how other siding systems (including other materials like vinyl) stand up over time.
Long story short, the value you get for the price of Hardie fiber cement is fantastic: It’s weather-resistant, rot-resistant, fade-resistant, pest-resistant, flame-resistant, highly customizable, and energy-efficient—the list goes on and on, so you won’t need to replace it twice. In other words, they make it easy to pick the right siding for your home.
