A Dented Car, A Damaged Desk… And The Hardline Accountability That Defines Us
At Peakview, Mistakes Are Rare.
But Owning Them? That’s Standard
No matter how skilled or careful your contractor is, home remodeling in the Colorado Springs area doesn’t always go perfectly.
Accidents happen.
Mistakes occur.
That’s just reality.
But here’s what shouldn’t happen:
- You get blamed for it.
- The issue gets swept under the rug.
- Radio silence when something goes wrong.
At Peakview Windows, Siding & Stucco, we believe that how a company handles the unexpected says more than a hundred promises ever could.
That’s why we want to share a few quick, real-world stories that show exactly what you can expect from us when the stakes are high and responsibility matters most.
Let’s dive in.
STORY #1: When We Dented A Customer’s Car
And Owned It Immediately

One of our crews was working above a garage, installing windows. Everything was going smoothly… until a heavy tool accidentally slipped from a ledge and landed right on a homeowner’s sedan parked below.
The car hadn’t been there earlier.
The homeowner had moved it temporarily.
Still, it was our tool. Our job. Our mistake.
So what did we do?
We got the damage professionally repaired at no cost to the homeowner. No finger-pointing. No excuses. Just a fast, full resolution—because that’s the right thing to do.
STORY #2: The Desk That Deserved Better

During a window installation, one of our team members used a chemical that turned out to be mildly corrosive. Thinking the can was dry, he set it down—briefly—on the homeowner’s beautifully finished wood desk.
A few moments later, he saw a thin trickle down the side of the can.
Just a small drip. But it was enough to damage the desk’s surface.
Would the homeowner have noticed? Maybe.
Were we okay leaving it? Absolutely not.
We immediately informed them, removed the desk, and paid to have it professionally resurfaced by a local cabinetmaker. It wasn’t a big repair—but it was the right move.
And that’s what mattered.
BONUS STORY: Sliding Glass Doors, Stucco Walls
And ZERO Margin For Error
A couple of years ago, we were hired to replace two sliding glass doors on a home with flawless stucco siding. Unlike wood or fiber-cement cladding, stucco is tricky. One wrong move, and you could be looking at major repairs—not just around the doors, but potentially across an entire wall.
So we slowed down.
We took our time and worked with surgical care over two full days.
In the end? Not a single crack, scratch, or blemish on the stucco. The new doors were installed perfectly, and the homeowner couldn’t have been happier.
Can You Count On Your Contractor When It Matters Most?
You don’t just need a contractor who knows how to install windows or siding.
You need one who steps up when something doesn’t go as planned.
At Peakview, we don’t run from responsibility—we run toward it.
If a problem pops up on your project, we’ll tell you immediately. Then we’ll tell you how we’re going to fix it. And then we’ll actually follow through. No drama. No dodging. Just integrity.
That’s how we’ve operated since 1994, and it’s how we’ll continue to serve our Colorado Springs neighbors—one honest job at a time.
